4/8/26 – 4/9/26

Many of you have been asking about Chase, and we wanted to share an update.

Earlier this week Chase began complaining of significant eye pain, and by Wednesday evening his eye had swollen shut — prompting an ER visit to Newton Wellesley Hospital.

After testing positive for Influenza B and undergoing a CT scan in the early hours of Thursday morning, Chase was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital for Children, where he has been admitted to the pediatric inpatient unit.

The team at MGH has diagnosed Chase with two conditions: sinusitis — a serious bacterial sinus infection — and a related complication called Pott’s Puffy Tumor. Despite the word “tumor,” this is not cancer. It is a complex infection that requires specialized care.

Chase is currently receiving IV antibiotics and pain management, and is being cared for by a world-class team including a fellowship-trained pediatric ENT surgeon from Harvard Medical School. He is scheduled to undergo a surgical procedure to clean and drain the affected sinuses.

He is resting comfortably and is in excellent hands at one of the country’s leading pediatric medical centers.

We will share updates as we have them. Thank you for all the love and support.
